Fullscreen interferes with selecting a track-recording profile

Viajero Perdido shared this problem 7 years ago
Solved

Hi. Using Locus Pro 3.17.2 in fullscreen mode on my Nexus 5, I found I couldn't select the Car profile when starting a track recording. (I have it set for the full-size widget for track recording, takes up the left side of the screen.)

Beside the big green arrow (start-recording icon) at the bottom of the screen, I tapped the existing mode (Foot), it popped up three choices AND re-activated the Android buttons underneath (apparent bug), and I tapped the third choice, Car. That tap went instead to the Android menu icon (the little circle) underneath the Car menu, making Locus disappear from view. Oops.

With the current beta, I only see 2 of the 3 options; the 3rd is off the screen completely.

(This isn't a big priority as far as I'm concerned, but it did take a few minutes of fumbling around at the side of the road to find the fullscreen option to turn it off again...)

Good day Viajero,

thank you for your bug report. I've aware of this problem for some time, but I wasn't sure how to solve it.

Anyway quite simple solution is moving of selection pf profiles little bit higher on screen. So I did it together with few small improvements and seems to look and work nice.

So thank you for small push, in next version this should be improved.

That was fast, thanks.

Perhaps related...

In fullscreen mode, I tapped a track in the list, selected Export. That brought up the Data Export screen, with a default name selected, and the keyboard popped up. I pressed the Android down-arrow button to get rid of the keyboard.

Result: the Cancel and Export buttons are missing from the bottom. presumably hiding under the three Android buttons which are still visible.

This is with both the current Pro and Beta versions.

One more glitch about fullscreen, then I'll stop.

If you're in fullscreen mode AND on the main map screen, AND swipe down from the top (or swipe up from the bottom) to show the Android panels, BUT don't move the finger past the Locus top/bottom panels before releasing the finger, THEN you get the Android panels as expected BUT ALSO Locus reacts to an imaginary "tap" where you released the finger.

I'm training myself not to do that. :)

Good day Viajero, thanks for a feedback. There will be probably more issues with full screen mode.

Anyway I'm unable to simulate a problem in "export" screen. For me, bottom panel always hide when I press down button, interesting. What happen when you simply tap into middle of screen? Did this hide bottom button panel?

And problem in main map screen happen on all other screens. This is how full screen mode is made in Android and I see no solution for this. Swipe down event is passed also to application below, in this case to Locus. Fortunately this is not a big issue.

Hi Menion. Thanks again for the quick reply. The Export issue happens on both my devices (Nexus 5 and Nexus 7-2013, both with Android 6.0.something). Nothing happens when I tap anywhere "dead" inside the screen after dismissing the keyboard; the Android panel is still there at the bottom, hiding the dialog buttons.

And I agree, the "phantom tap" I mentioned isn't a big issue; I can work around it.

I'm going off the grid for a few days, so won't be able to discuss much further, sorry.

Good day Viajero,

thanks for a tip with Nexus 7. I have also this one and completely forget. So I'm able to simulate same issue.

Unfortunately even after quite long searching, I wasn't able to to find out why this happen and mainly how to fix it. Help is here tap on "export type", which then hide bottom navigation panel.

I'm sorry, but this issue is quite unsolvable for me now.
