Functional Track View

One of the biggest problems with Locus User Interface: There is no *functional track view* which centralizes all the things that you can do to a track.

Instead, we have this "information" window plus a few dozen menu items spread wildly around the whole program. Not very convenient and highly illogical:

All these things are more or less obsolete and make the UI way more complex than neccessary.

If there was a *functional track view*, many things would instantly become a lot clearer. A *functional track view* would centralize all the stuff available for tracks. Think of it looking a bit like your current "information window" but also having all functions available for tracks collected in ONE PLACE.

* The extra track editor toolbar on the map screen is obsolete. All you need is a single button to open the *functional track view*.

* The menu in the track list is obsolete. A single click would simply take you to the *functional track view*. This is what people expect anyway when handling lists, almost all mobile apps (email for example) work that way.

* Other things can be handled nicer as well: For example when you join tracks, Locus would take you directly to the *functional track view* of the newly created track. Right now you`re stuck with the list without having any idea where the new track actually went.

* Most other strangenesses would simply disappear with this new concept.

The Track Edit Window would be obsolete as well. It is just another unneccessary view on the same data. The *functional track view* would simply allow tapping and changing the editable fields, no need for extra edit windows or menu items.

2.5.6.11 is still highly illogical in this regard, sorry to insist: We have "Data" again now which consists of Points, Tracks and Item lists. So far so good, although "Data" is still a forbidden word. The main problem however is this:

* When you click on a POINT, you get an information window.

* When you click on a TRACK, you get a popup menu.

* When you click on a MAP ITEM, you get transferred to the map immediately.

THREE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT results for the very same action: clicking an item in a list. This is against every user interface rule ever invented and utterly confusing. Locus will never "feel right" until this is fixed and everything acts predictably.

The only proper action to do when clicking an item in a list is: open a functional detail view of this item. ALL android apps work that way.
