GC Offlinizer doesn`t download all pictures
The GC offlinizer has some strange behaviour for me:
Whenever I use it to download spoiler pics (Settings: use live, only spoilers), not all pictures are actually downloaded. The offlinizer log says that everything was downloaded successfully, and the corresponding cache has a "pictures" tab, but no ppcture is shown when I open the tab.
When I look in the file structure, the offlinizer creates a html page containing the link but the picture itself is missing. It is like that for about 50-60 % of all caches containing spoilers.
I also checked the Caches that aren`t downloaded correctly but didn`t find anything in the pictures (like size or dimensions) that could be a problem for the offlinizer.
Do you have any idea what might be the problem?
Greetings
Gas
Gas, please post one or two cache codes where this problem occur and I`ll check it

Hi Menion,

GC3V391
GC30HEC
GC28G4K
A working one is for example:
GC2FN6V

Hmm I tried all three caches you wrote about and seems that all works correctly.
There were some changes in offlinizer based on this discussion https://getsatisfaction.com/locus/top... and I also changed a little bit way, how images are downloaded. So please wait till next public release (withing a week) and we`ll see if problem will be solved also for you or not

Thanks for the heads up, I`ll wait and try the new version when it`s released.
Anyway, I tested again today and redownloaded all the spoiler pics again using the same pocket query as the last time.
This time, much more images were downloaded, the three caches I wrote of before were correctly downloaded and shown this time. On the other side, caches that worked the last time didn`t download today. It seems as if Locus isn`t checking if the picture is really downloaded or not. The Offlinizer said that everything was downloaded successfully, just as the last time I tried.
Anyway, I`ll wait for the next version and try again.
What I also found out when using the Offlinizer today: There seems to be some problem with the display timeout/energy saving. I started the Offlinizer and took away the phone. After some time, I looked again just to see that the Offlinizer seemed to have paused the process until I woke up the phone again. The next time I took away the phone the Offlinizer continued correctly. Effectively I had to wake up the phone a couple of times in order to complete the Offlinizer and it took me around 2 hours for ~100 pictures and 900 caches to complete. Is there a way to keep the phone alive while downloading the pictures?

Gas,
Is your wifi active while in sleep mode? I had similar problems, but it was related to my "advanced" wifi settings.
Regarding missing pictures. I noticed the same behavior. I was pretty sure that I downloaded all the possible pictures (not only the spoilers), but when on the route I noticed that some of them where missing. Luckily I had a data connection, and I was able to see them. So they reside now in the cache, but why they were not Offlinized is a mystery to me.

hm, my wifi is set to "always on".
Other apps that download while phone is in standby are working correctly, so it might not be a problem with the phone either. Well, I`ll wait for the next version and see if that helps.

Hi Menion,
I recently tried the download again using the new version and it works now!
Both the problem with pictures not downloading and the problem with pausing the downloads when the display goes off are fixed for me.
One thing I noticed though: When I let the display time out automatically the downloading process continues. When I push the Power-Button to switch the display off the offlinizer stops until I push again to re-enable the display. Is that some kind of standby function that only enables when the display to turned off by button?

Hello Gas,
I also once noticed that for cache was downloaded different number of images then for the first time, but was unable to simulate it. So keep in mind, that there still may be an issue ...
About pause/resume of downloading ... I think this will be some system feature. funny ... is this doing also when you download maps (vector or online)?

Hm,
i tried the same GPX file as last time and found no cache where the picture was missing. Maybe I was just lucky :)
Regarding the pausing/resuming, i didn`t try the download of maps yet, but other apps on my phone that download while the screen is off don`t have this behaviour, eg. Navigon.
