GC Offlinizer / Gecaching Live login problem

Steffen shared this problem 10 years ago
Solved

Hi,

I have a problem with using the GC Offlinizer. When I call the feature within the data/poi tab (with a folder containing some geocaches) the `browser` window opens and timeouts after about 10 sec resulting in an error screen (see screenshot below).

I have to add that the first time I called the feature I did get the chance to input credentials but the result was a `wrong password` (?) error. From then on the above happened again and again. I also already tried logging in and out several times with several browsers and also the locus gecaching add-on: all without any problem.

Any idea what`s going wrong? Thx in advance...

Steffen

Hello Steffen,

sorry for these troubles. Seems that Locus remember previous login state (browser cookies) and do not want to load new fresh data. What I suggest to try, is in you device main settings > Applications > Locus > Clear cache. This should help

EDIT: I have just added "Refresh" button to this login screen (on your screenshot) so in next version will be possible to say locus "clear cache and load data again", which should help on this problem also

Hi Menion,

clearing the cache the way You described did not help. Anyway I can delete the `faulty` file(s) manually (on a rooted device)?

Will the refresh-button do anything more/other than deleting the app cache? When will it be available?

Yes, refresh button mainly delete "Cookies", not cache, which should solve this problem.

You may then try to delete directory /data/data/menion.android.locus.pro/app_webview if this helps. Hope so

Hi,

unfortunately the folder `app_webview` does not exist within the given path (see attached screenshot)?!

When will the update be publically available?

Hi,

with all respekt, guys, but I am starting to lose patience. Is it really that hard to give some proper advice on how to delete some cached data? The whole app is useless for me without a working gc offlinizer...

Hello Steffen,

sorry for a late response ...

1) please try to delete directory "cache" if you have only this one

2) if this not help, you should make "backup of settings" in Locus "Backup manager", then re-install Locus and restore settings. This will cause cleaning of cache, but all settings will remain

3) you should wait probably to tomorrow evening (UTC+1), when new version should be out on Google Play

I had the same problem. Use the refresher-button, which is in the today`s update. That will work.

Hi,

the refresh-mechanism within the updated version worked very well. Thanx for this solution.
