Plz add georefrenced photos plotting on the maps to the app e.g
iOS app foreflight uses same technique for plotting an approach plate over maps for air navigation .

depends on which data you wants to display in app.
Locus Map currently supports KML Ground Overlays, which is kid of georeferenced image in KMZ pack. If you have own photo/picture/map as JPEG/PNG format, you may use internal image calibrator feature: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_tools:calibrator
