GIS Markup / Sketch Tool

Hey guys,

I will try to explain what I would like to accomplish the best I can:

I would like to try and integrate a kind of markup tool using offline GIS maps as the physical background on which users can draw. So Markup would basically makes use of GIS maps as a backdrop and provide functionality like creating and sharing sketches. Also the Markup tool would basically use locus as a kind of asset viewer as well. The markup tool would provide users with abilities such as freehand draw, drawing straight multi-segment lines, drawing squares or circles, inserting text, and drawing dimensioned lines (with measurements in feet).

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Nick

I was thinking about writing this kind of thing as a stand-alone application. So do you want to do freehand drawing inside Locus or outside?

Which ever would be the most feasible? What do you think? Are you looking to develop ?

I was thinking about writing such an app. Now I`m using Locus + GPS averaging.

Good day Nick,

do not know if elmuSSo find a time to this task, anyway from my point of view, as a Locus developer, I think that such feature is too far from general Locus purpose - hiking/biking/geoaching.

So sorry, I'm closing this idea.
