GPS disconnects after a few minutes

Hi, on my Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro (MIUI 8), Locus Pro has been working perfectly for months, but now, the (internal) GPS disconnects after a few minutes. Other apps are not affected, they still have a correct location. I have to go to the Locus' GPS pane, which shows no satellite at all, press disconnect, then connect, and the satellites are back.

I don't think I have changed any setting, neither in Locus, or system settings.

What can I do to try to fix the problem?

thanks

Hi Jérome,

it looks like the GPS is killed by your phone battery optimization. Have you tried all measures recommended in this article?: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6#xiaomi

I have set the permission to the application to no restrictions at all, but I still lose GPS signal and has to turn off and back on the GPS to find again satellites. On my Mi A2 this was not a problem at all, but on my Mi 9 SE this kind of sucks, as I cannot use track recording now. Do you have any solution to the problem? Would really appreciate it! Thanks, Mark

Hi Márk, I now also have a Mi 9 SE; I don't remember if I had to change something else than "no restriction" in battery settings, but I have no problem.

Hi Márk, check these tips: https://dontkillmyapp.com/xiaomi. And also, if you have Android 10, go to the system GPS settings and add permission for Locus to run all the time (not just when the display is on).

Thank you guys for the support, the "run all the time" permission did solve the problem! Keep up the good work, Locus Pro is really the best app I have used for hiking and biking.

Best regards,

Mark
