GPS problem with version 3.30.3

Peter Smith shared this problem 6 years ago
Not a Problem

With today's update(17th April) to 3.30.3 I no longer can get GPS readings. The previous version(3.30.2) worked perfectly but from today with the new version I cannot get GPS readings. The Satellite/GPS window is empty, with the message 'No satellites'. On the other hand the program GPS Status can get GPS readings, calculate the location and show satellite positions so therefore my phone hardware and operating system are working correctly.

My environment is a Meizu M5 Note with Android 6.

Is there any way that I can revert to 3.30.2 until the problem 3.30.3 is fixed?

Hi Peter,

in 3.30.3. we returned to a location system used in versions 3.29 and older. Did you experience this issue with those versions too?

Hi Michal,

sorry about the delay. Here is my reply from the other thread:

I have used Locus Pro for several months. Then earlier this year GPS access failed. I solved that problem by turning ON the newly available compatibility mode. Then with the arrival of 3.30.2 compatibility mode no longer worked! Luckily I got around the problem by turning OFF compatibility mode. 3.30.2 then continued to work very nicely for me.

But yesterday 3.30.3 broke my GPS access. Anyway I have reverted to 3.30.2, so for the time being I am very happy with your marvellous app.

Carried over from another thread:

Michal,

Yes, it is weird. To be doubly sure I am going to delete 3.30.2 and re-install 3.30.3 and starting from scratch, re-do all my settings. Give me 15 minutes or so and I will report back.

Peter Smith ● 9 minutes agoOK, the good news is that worked. After a fresh, clean install Locus 3.30.3 is working perfectly with the default settings. Thanks so much for all your help. I can only surmise that somehow the carry over of settings from 3.30.2 to 3.30.3 caused the problem.

The problem is solved. Thanks ever so much for the rapid assistance. It is truly impressive.
