Hello, in the app have I the support to import files from local, dropbox and an url.

It will be nice to set a login to an own server (NAS) like a Synology nas. This support WebDAV. Is it maby possible to build in the app?

I hope yiu understand my idea.

Good day Jelle,

I think it should be possible to implement. I've anyway changed your idea title to more general "WebDAV" import/export as same system is used on more devices then just Synology workstations.

Happy voting.

Hello,

Thanx for your answer, I hope that the people going to vote. ;)

I would also appreciate this feature (especially export) because I have an ownlcoud server running at my home and the syncing with FolderSync isn't reliable at all.

Direct export to WebDav would therefore be nice!

It was a while ago.

There is no planning for WebDAV (for backup to my NAS (Synology), I have a other solution for it.

Maby handy for other Synology users.

I have on my Synology a packege calles "Cloud Sync".

So I can export my data from "Locus Pro" to "Dropbox"

The "Cloud Sync" will Sync the files from "Dropbox" to a map on the Synology.

Hi,

the new policy of dropbox ist to limit the number of devices to 3 Therefore it's now nearly unuseable.

It's time to look for something new.

To my own, an owncloud interface would be fine, but a webdav interface can be used for owncloud, Telekom cloud, and other services. The webdav protocol a lot more versatile.

Many people are also running their private cloud based on Nextcloud/Owncloud and would like to take advantage of a WebDAV interface.

Not only to store tracks and pois, but also to backup maps in order to have them at hand in case you change to a new device or your SDCard crashes.

Yes that was the reason I like this option..

Yandex Disk support WebDAV. With several restrictions, but none of them critical for downloading.

So, this request can be merged with https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/gpx-poi-file-import-export-to-synology

I'm also voting for this. With WebDAV I would be able to keep my backups safe, not in some corporate cloud.

And it is crazy how many up votes this issue have....

I gave up waiting for this feature years ago.

My solution: foldersync

Foldersync is able to sync local directories to remote directories (and back). Many(!) accounts types like owncloud, webdav, ... where supported. So simply sync Locus/backup to local cloud.

very sad that this topic is soon will be 6 years of nothing.

I assume that Locus has some contracts with the commercial cloud providers and promote their offerings in favor of free private solutions. Otherwise it is not understandable why this feature which is requested by so many users is not honoured for such a long time.

Dropbox?

I can't believe this.

no, Locus is neutral. There is too little interest. Most of them use Dropbox or G-Drive.

On the other hand, there is not enough time to integrate. There are many other functions that need to be integrated. Always the most important things first. And for the last 1.5 years, LM4 was Prio 1.

15 users over 5 years isnt a lot, and with already existing solutions like foldersync

which i use to do backups on to sd card of many apps, not just locus

it makes sense to allocate to to other features

To little intrest? Maby, I think there is always some people not comming to the forum, or don't write a note.

Data privacy is increasingly important.

To implement a WebDAV interface should not be that much effort.

A lot has changed with Android in the last 2 years. Google is locking down more an more features. On my Android 13 phone it is not possibly anymore to do an automated backup (I used sshelper/termux).
So supporting open and free backup solutions is really urgent now.

Integration of other existing clouds would be helpful, too - e.g. the telekom magente cloud
