HGT elevation data display if both 1 and 3 resolution hgt files are present in the srtm directory
Answered
How does Locus Pro handle .HGT data (more precisely, the display of digital elevation data) if more files are present in the Locus/data/srtm directory in different resolution for the same area, e.g. for the Alps, downloaded in 1” resolution from http://www.viewfinderpanoramas.org/Coverage%20map%20viewfinderpanoramas_org1.htm and also in 3” resolution from http://www.viewfinderpanoramas.org/Coverage%20map%20viewfinderpanoramas_org3.htm?
Will Locus display elevation data based on the 1” file or the 3” file?
Good day Arpad,
not sure, if it is possible to recognize difference between 1' and 3'' files as gynta suggest, so I'll rather add my answer as well.
I think you can have only a single file for certain area. So for example file N45E008.hgt that will be 25 MB big in case 1' data or around 3 MB big in case of 3'' data. Locus is able to handle both files, so it is just on you, which file you place into Locus/data/srtm directory.
Hope, I've answered on your question.
