Good day Berndso,

Locus Map do not offer any voice files for navigation system. Fully depend on TTS system installed in device.

There is alternative method how to convert old TomTom voices for Locus Map, anyway this method is not recommended because it has really limited number of "sounds", so it does not cover all possibilities that Locus Map wants to say to user.

Thanks for understanding.

Hello Menion,

is there a discription how to use the TomTom voices in Locus? I want to get a car navigation solution, that I can use in USA. I don't need a huge amount of sounds, I only need the good advices of the voice (similar like it is knows from Car-Navigation-Systems like mine built-in in Audi A3). I don't need more.

Hello,

first please be aware that Locus Map is made mainly for hike & bike, so using it in car/moto is more on own risk.

Description how to convert TomTom voices is here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:advanced:customization:navigation , it is anyway quite complicated.

One user some time ago converted many TomTom files and added them here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=community:navigation_custom_voice_files . If you open this page in your mobile browser, tap on certain voice file should automatically start Locus Map and install this file. Then just in settings > navigation (or during navigation) choose downloaded voice.

Hope this will work for you fine. I noticed you complained on complexity of Locus Map in different thread in discussion with Petr. Well we are trying to make Locus more simple, on second side we do not try to create second Google Maps application. So take it or leave it.

Btw. volume slider in Locus Map for navigation IS same as volume in system. By default is should use "media" channel of your device.

Let me know if I may help with something more.

Thanks, The Links seem to work, but I cannot test it now.

But really, I am often asked for a good and especially easy to use Car Navigation for Handys (and also bike navigation). This is a big market, but it must be as easy as a tomtom and stable.

Locus has no interests there.....?

Glad it works.

And interest .. I'll lie if I say that it's not interesting. Anyway because we are still tiny team of people, some tasks that require a lot work-hours, takes long time. And stuff around navigation is that case.

Just a quick introduction into offline navigation in Locus Map: http://www.locusmap.eu/locus-map-can-navigate-offline/ . Maybe this may be helpful ...
