How long does cached tiles last?

Hello,

when an online map allows to cache it, what does that exactly mean? How long does the cached tiles last on my device? When do they get deleted? When I close Locus, boot the device, or...?

The cache content generally survives closing Locus and reboot, until it expires or the user triggers Locus cache-clearing feature.

The cache expiration depends on 2 limits, both available in online map menu (dots on the right in map list )

1/ In map details/description, there is listed caching expiration set by the map provider ( e.g. never expiring, NN days or caching disabled ), that is honoured by LocusMap.

2/ there is explicit optional item for the map to manually set the expiration, eventually forcing the content to expire before the provider limit. It can be useful to prevent obsolete content, if the provider does not set time restriction at all.
