How to apply an overlay over a WMS map?

Hello.

I added a WMS map to Locus. I am unable to use it as my main map and apply an overlay on top of it.

Instead, what I get is, from the bottom up:

* a vector map (which I don't want to be loaded when I am using a WMS map instead)

* a hillshade overlay

* my WMS map

I'd rather want to have

* my WMS map

* an hillshade on top of it.

How can that be done? Thanks!rZKv8rG

Good day Febs,

such feature is not possible in Locus Map and it is not even planned, sorry.

EDIT: anyway it depend on what you want to do with Locus. You may give a try to Locus GIS which should already offer such feature - https://plus.google.com/communities/102467663728153787419

So bad. Why is it so, if I may ask?

Thank you.

Because Locus is made for hike & bike and even a WMS maps are something that do not exactly belong to this type of app. What you want is quite advanced feature and I'm sure that major part of users do not have usage for it.

Well, there actually are WMS maps that are perfectly suited for hike and bike, and that's why I am into this.

The WMS service I am trying to use provides topo maps that are by far more detailed than any OSM map (I am an OSM contributor and I just love the project, but it is still somewhat limited) and also better than several printed topo maps. That's why being able to use them at their best on Locus would be just perfect. :)

Yes but on second side, WMS maps cannot be stored offline, which is usually big problem.

Only idea is to use blank map as a background and WMS map without hillshade as overlay. Sorry, better solution do not exists in Locus for now.

Just allow me to download WMS maps :). At the moment I have to use another app for it then switch to Locus, but it would be so powerful to do everything from within a single app.

Thank you very much anyways :)
