How to generate own offline hillshade
Answered
Hello,
I am unable to generate my own hillshades. I've read that this is possible but I really missed the way to. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thank you so much :)
Requirements for hillshade:
Locus Pro
HGT files for required area - older method but still useful - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRO_UEsQQrU
enabled settings - http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:settings:map_advanced#advanced_settings - Shading maps

Thanks, that helps.
Isn't there any mean to select an area and then download all the .hgt files for that area on batch?
Also, and most important. It would be nice to be able to quick enable and disable hillshading for the current map, is it possible?
Having it on or off for all personal maps isn't very handy. I may have a map that happily fits with the hillshade while another may not, and it'd be useful to quickly enable or disable the feature on the fly (and also, remember the setting for the single map so that when I switch from one to another the hillshade is automatically applied or not according to what I prefer).
Thank you for your amazingly fast feedback!

Download of HGT files in batch was introduced in latest 3.4.0 version. This feature is anyway our small gift to Locus Pro users that purchase and download Vector maps from our store. So every user that download any vector map, Locus then offer possibility to download all HGT files that exactly cover whole map.
Other way is to draw a line where points lines in required areas and then fill altitude to this track.
About quick switch - for this exists feature called "Quick switch" :).

Remember of settings for certain maps isn't possible, just a global settings that apply on whole kind of maps (online, personal, vector).
Glad to help :).

Is it also possible to batch download all .hgt files for a manually added vector map in Locus Pro?

Hi Jacko, download of .hgt files is offered right after downloading Locus vector maps. If you missed the step, there are many methods how to obtain the files: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_add_map_shading

I don't think we have the same understanding of the word "batch".

If you think so... all possible methods how to get .hgt files into Locus Map are described in the mentioned article.
