I have a map file in jpg over an island in the archipelago outside Stockholm. Is it possible to import that to Locus?

one alternative to my first tip:

i have build a overlay with Google Earth and exported as kmz

for first test only "quick and dirty"

unpack .zip and copy the .kmz to locus map items

Thank You! It loaded ok. But it needs to be scaled and calibrated. How do we go on from here?

Bertil, you can't use a picture inside Locus scaled if you not previously preparing the picture with an 3rd party tool. You have to convert it previously to an usable format.

Bertil, I would do it as @balloni55 has recommended - calibrate your map image with the Map calibrator feature - I tested it and the result is pretty nice (see the attachment - if you play with the calibration a little more thoroughly, you'll get even better)

I agree with you Michal! I also use this technique in the Swedish archipelago when I'm sailing and transfer photos from books to the chart. Btw I'm very impressed with your calibration!! How many points did you use?

Tank you my friends! This week I am going out to Ingmarsö and then I will test the application. I use on my Iphone Multiplans Open Maps which is very easy to work with.

So try to use your "KARTA_fram.jpg" with your Iphone App...
