How to use Positive feedback and Negative feedback in custom live tracking service

I implemented my own live tracking service (personal project, not intended to become a public service). Start and stop detection is hard because Locus doesn't send any kind of identification when live tracking was started or stopped.

Now I notice that there are two options that notify when livetracking is on and when live tracking is stopped (Positive and Negative feedback). I wonder, how are these notifications sent when using a custom live tracking service? I seem fail to detect these requests and I cannot find anything in the documentation...

Good day Auric,

positive and negative feedbacks are for users, not for a server. These settings (tap on text to see more options) are made to notify user in case, there are some problems with sending tracking events or in opposite case, when all is fine.

And you are correct, Locus do not send any start/stop events. Till now, nobody needed it and even we in our integrated Live tracking system do not need it. Not sure if they have any usage, but you may try to convince me :). "Start" even should be quite easy to do, but "stop" event will be more complicated mainly because it's delivery cannot be guaranteed.

Now the "tap to set up detailed options" makes totally sense to me! I can't understand now why I misinterpreted it.

Ah well, at the moment I start a new tracking on the server side if the server didnt receive a coordinate for more than an hour. That's fine for me. I'll keep my change requests for more important ones ;-)

Hehe, fine, glad to help. We do it in similar way, just our timeout between "sessions" is set to 30 minutes.

Good luck with your project!
