How to create a Widget to control Track Recording

The manual says that "Track record can be also controlled by a widget, which can be placed on the home screen of a mobile device".

How can I create such a widget?

Hello Henk,

if you have installed Locus Pro, this widget is available in list of your widgets that may be placed on desktop.

Also alternative to control track record (quite new) is over some advanced manager, like tasker. For this more information is here http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu...

I have the locus pro beta version 3.2.3.8but I do not see the recording widget in the widget list on my Galaxy S2. Is this normal?

Hello Paul,

it's a little bit complicated. Anyway in BETA version of Locus is not available this widget. It's available only in a real Locus Pro version.

There is NO Pro beta - only a FREE beta :)

and Yes, you are right - there is no widget for 3.2.3.8 Free beta

hmm and what is battery saved? I believe that all other options may work in BETA version of Locus Free as in a regular Locus Pro version. Little bit confusing, I know :).

I am referring to what is says on your website concerning the battery

saving feature:

Record your GPS tracks wherever you go

It doesn't matter what path you choose, Locus Map can record it for you.

*Download Locus Map for free <http://www.locusmap.eu/download/>* and try

many of it's track recording features:

- Complex track recording

- *Track charts and stats*

- *Long life battery feature*

- Track *recording widget*

- *Supported web services*: GPSies, Breadcrumbs, Ride with GPS, ikiMap,

MyMaps

And it doesn't end with track recording.*Use your track recordings as

navigation routes *or *send them to your friends*, who can then follow the

exact same route you walked before. And compare your stats.

If you go on longer trips where you can’t charge your phone, use Locus Map’s low-power feature, that saves your battery.

Oki, understand. This feature is available for testing also in Locus Free Beta.

It's called "GPS Auto-off" and is located in Locus > menu > settings > GPS > scroll to bottom part.

This feature allows to define how long will be GPS active and how long will be disabled (sleeping).
