How to reset cache expiration setting?

Vladimir Krupenin shared this question 10 years ago

By default, map is downloaded forever (there is no expiration value at all). If I change cache expiration setting, I cannot return it to initial state - it doesn`t allows save empty field. When I set it to 0, it expires immediately! (and not forever as I thought and as indicated in map properties).

Also when I set it to 1 hour, there is sometimes problems with downloading. There is often quite a mess of incorrectly placed tiles and I need constantly scroll and zoom in-out to download tile. But I do not investigate this carefully because I don`t need this, and I`m not asking here to look or fix it.

Hello Vladimir,

To your first point:

There is no button which set default value, but there is small workaround. Set expiration to 10 000 then you’ll get warning where is written the maximal “Valid” value. In second step set the value from warning message.

To your second point: Can you please describe it more detailed or can you please make a screenshot?

Thank you

Petr

Thanks, it works. (It doesn`t give warning, just resets expiration time).

About second point - it looks like there is some problems when expiration time is set and with some of expired tiles. They are not always visible, but when I zoom in-out or scroll them out of screen and back, they become visible. Maybe youtube will help. Problems shown in beginning and from 1:40. Map properties are set to expiration time 1, and I looked part of this area about 2 hours before video was taken.

(also couple of times I see misplaced tiles, but I cannot reproduce it. anyway it`s not a big problem).
