I can not delete tracks anymore, Locus Pro crashes

Solved

I use Locus Pro 3.11.3 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 with Android 5.0.2

Today a new problem popped up, I can't delete tracks or folders containing tracks anymore.

Recently I updated to version 3.11.3, could this be the problem?

Good day Bruno,

sorry for such troubles. May you write me more information about this problem?

You wrote "can't delete" - what does it mean? You see some error message on screen? Are you able to correctly store recorded or manually created track to database? Are there any other problems in Locus like work with points etc?

Hello Menion

Thanks for your quick reply. After my bike trip I wanted to clean up Locus and to delete all unnecessary tracks. The folder with my recorded tracks I wanted to keep, all others I wanted to remove. I removed several folders containing tracks successfully, but 2 folders I couldn' remove, also not the single tracks contained in them. I always got the error message "Locus Pro has been stopped" with 2 buttons "report" and "ok". If I clicked on report, then I could leave a message for google, so I guess this is not an error message from Locus. If I clicked on "ok", then Locus restarted.

To save manually created or to import tracks to these 2 folders was possible as well as to delete them again.

I tried to move the tracks that I couldn't delete to a newly created folder, this worked, then I was able to delete the empty old folder, but the new folder I couldn't delete and also not the tracks. Then I tried to edit one of these tracks, I chose a trackpoint and wanted to delete the trackpiece before this point. I got the error message that the process failed, the result was, that all the tracks in the 3 folders had gone.

So I uninstalled Locus Pro and installed it again, restored a backup and everything worked normal again.

Thats all I can tell you, may be it doesn't help much, I really don't know what happened. Nevertheless I like Locus Pro very much, it's a super app!!

Best regards

Bruno

Hello Bruno,

sorry to hear such complicated story with Locus. Anyway from what I understand, you in the end restored an previous backup and all works fine now? For me it looks like some weird problem in track database.

If such problem happen, report to Google as you describe may be useful in case, you add some small comment to this report and also write me that you reported an issue to Google with that description. Usually best should be if you may next time privately share with me your database from Locus/data/database directory. I should then verify database file or fix some problem in Locus directly if exists.

Anyway really hope that now is all fine and no such problem appear again to you ;).
