I like to save my battery while navigating

I use settings to activate-deactivate screen diring navigation. However, Locus Map locks my security screen in the most terrible way, by admin-lock. I have to use my long backup password because even my fingerprint unlock can be used then, and of course waving the proximity sensor that i used in Locus setting either. There are other ways to put the screen of and lock the security, not the admin method but the method the user has selected in android setting, eg fingerprint or pattern or face unlock.

I use android 10 on Samsung note 9

I use Application Pinning to avoids having to unlock the device:

Hi Andre,

and what about Locus settings > Controlling > Display > Disable screen lock > All screen locks. Doesn't it solve the issue?

best regards

Even better than Application Pinning, thanks Michal!

Locus Map is so rich, I discover new things after years of using it :-)

When I disable all screen locks and set time-out to 30 sec and use the wave option the result is rather unstable.

The fingerprint option to unlock brings always the terrible password screen, but sometimes the doubleclick on the home screen too. The wave near proximity sensor option is difficult to use in practice, it does not react in a quick and stable manner.

It is difficult to describe what works ok, because of the unstable behaviour, it is simpler to describe that the fingerprint unlock method locks my screen to the admin password unlock screen. I shall test and write further with waving and doubleclick home button. Thanks.

Altough others have reported issue's with Proximity Wave I never observe an unstability.

(Samsung(s) A 4 to A5, THL A4 to A5, Xiamo A9).

My settings:

Settings > Controlling > Display >

1. Screen on/off control > Enable > Control by Gesture: Wave once Guidance/Navigation (3 items select) Auto screen turn-off 15 seconds.

2. Always screen on: Always

3. Disable screen lock: All screen locks.

(@ passive map display on/off for example during navigate)

Passive: When inputting text for some functions it does happen you need to unlock manually.

AND !!!

By config.cfg

My personal settings I do prefer.

(When arriving @ complex area's I prefer continue "display on" until dismissed by next single wave)

# NAVIGATION

# --------------------------------

# times before command, when Locus notify (in seconds), default is: 15|35|300

navigation_announcements_times=15

# Disable "Turn off if idle" when screen was turn on by gesture (default: false)

turn_on_screen_by_gesture_disable_auto_screen_off=1

Succes !

Thanks! I used your settings now. Also the config.cfg hack. It seems to work fine till now.

However I don't understand the following quote, maybe because of my poor English:

(@ passive map display on/off for example during navigate)

Passive: When inputting text for some functions it does happen you need to unlock manually.

Can you explain that in other words?

Thanks!

Conditions:

1. Locus settings as indicated.

2. Android display time out: Free (example 15 s).

Display off by proximity > After 15 s > Display on by proximity.

Add Point > Find point edit > Edit name_description > No keyboard !

For that unlock the phone by Pin or other method.
