Image map calibration problem

Yury Malyshkin shared this problem 7 years ago
Solved

In the current Locus version (3.17.0) I can not load images for calibration. However, taking a picture by camera works. I tried to select am image from both SD and internal memory. Tried jpg and png. Also I tried to reduce size by cropping, but it didn't help. An example image is attached. This function worked perfectly some time ago.

I would really appreciate fixing this. I bought the paid version just for this feature... Thanks.

Good day Yury,

sorry for a complications. Unfortunately even with your jpg file, I'm unable to simulate your problem.

You wrote that "can not load" - what does it mean? Is Locus reporting any problem, any error message? "Nothing happen" when you tap on button? Or "Nothing happen" when you select a photo from your SD card/internal memory?

More information you give me, higher chance I may do something with it.

Btw. any change on your side, like new device ROM, completely new device etc.?

Thank you for quick responce!

After I click Select and choose a file nothing happens. No error messages.

I have same device as previously (Sony Experia Z1 compact), maybe I updated Android. I use default ROM from Sony. Current Android version is 5.1.1.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Good day Yury,

very interesting. I'm testing it also on Z1C with Android 5.1.1 and no problem.

I have prepared for you special version of Locus Free. Please install it ( https://docs.google.com/a/asamm.com/uc?id=0B_Nr4CT8osmtLV9aSzB0cG1ua1k&export=download ), start and try to use this "On board calibrator" function. After "nothing happen", close Locus. In root directory of Locus (in internal memory), will be log, send me it. Logs are in directory Locus/logs.

Thank you.

Good day Yury,

thank you for a log. From what I see, you tried to pick a photo twice. For first and second pick, you used different options from left file picker menu.

First was original Android based (maybe menu "Pictures") and as I see, it should work correctly. At least Locus get back selected file.

Second option was probably thanks to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pleco.chinesesystem&hl=en , but seems that this app do not follow some basic requirements and selection cannot be correctly handled by Locus.

Anyway even in first case, you see nothing after return to Locus? Did you tried also other options? I see in file picker also options like "Internal storage", "SD Card", "Pictures" ... all of them do not work?

Hi,

It was a good point to try all the options. I hadn't noticed before that I had duplicated items 'Internal storage' and 'SD card' in the list of options. The full list of my options to pick a picture is:

- Local storage

- SD card

- Images

- Downloads

- Internal storage

- mcsd32gb

- and then a list of related apps like Photos, Dropbox and others.

Only the first two options don't work. It looks like they are affected somehow by another app (Pleco). All other options work. So the problem was on my side. Thank you for figuring this out!

Just a though: maybe it is possible to prevent Locus showing fake options like those?

Thank you again and have a good day!

Good day Yury,

glad you solved it.

Unfortunately I cannot help here more. What you see is made by Android itself and Locus has no influence on visible options. Interesting that first two options do not work, but as you wrote - they are maybe added by 3rd party application and seems that they are not made correctly.

Have a good day too.
