Import folder structure from zip-files

It would be nice if Locus Map could create the folder structure inside the zip-file and place data from gpx-files inside folders as in the zip-file.

It would also be nice if the dialogue asking for owerwrite and so on could be shown only once for importing this zip-file and then apply all settings for each folder.

The whole point with this type of import is to save time and a lot of "clicks" in the user interface. With a single import of a zip-file, I could get several gpx-files updated and each of them placed in different folders in Locus Map. This could also be implemented without a lot of changes in the existing UI.

That feature could be very helpful for professional use! We are working on a project where POIs are collected (among other data) by the users. The customers are supposed to use their own geo app (and we strongly recommend to use Locus) for orientation within a certain area as our app is for collecting data mainly.

Importing dozens of POIs (ZIP generated in App/Web) directly into several folders would shift the use of Locus on a new level: once created the users could choose their own Icons for each folder then and update all their POIs with a single import.

A simple upgrade for Locus but a huge shift towards professional use!

Would it require multi-level track & point folders? That would be great. I'm sure there are other topics on this already.

Hello guys,

I think that such a feature is a really really complicated task to do it properly. There are many specific cases when data are in more than one depth or in a more complex structure.

Did anyone try to use "MapItems" system? For read-only content it may perfectly fit to these needs. It has directory structure, it directly handles with GPX/KML files and it automatically reacts to changes in these files and reloads data on the map.

How to? Simply put data into Locus/mapItems directory and in the app menu > more > mapItems enable content you want.
