Dear all,

I'm trying to import a KMZ file (created using Google Maps - My Maps) using 'Maps>Offline Maps> + > External maps' but I receive the following error message 'Problem with Viaje.kmz file'.

Could anyone help me with this issue? (I couldn't attached the file to the post).

Thanks a lot for your help and time.

Hello Alberto

first of all, your kmz works well

i think i recogniced your problem :-)

althought you can read on GM "map export" content of these files are points(POI´s) and tracks and no map!!

so you have two possibilities to use it inside locus

- using as "item"

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:items:management

so copy your kmz with filebrowser to locus/mapItems and after activating (red letters) you can manage visibility with down left blue button in mapscreen "Map Content" > Active items

- alternatively you can import your kmz tracks and POI´s (single or merged)

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:import

by the way,

as i see in your kmz, you have modified/saved it with "RouteConverter", so you lost attached icons and locus display e.g. red arrows instead

I hope my explanation it´s understandble for you, if not feel free to aks again

Thanks Wolfgang. I see my mistake.

I imported the POIs and I can see my Japan map with the POIs I created in Google Maps. Now I would like to store this map to see it offline, is it possible?

Again thanks for your help and time.

Hello Alberto

a little bit OT....

for me it´s not clear what is "my Japan map" is it an online map??? if so, some of them can be downloaded and after that they can be used as offline map

New locus user can download three Locus Map for free from locus store!

=maps&s[]=free#offline]http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_mmanager&s[]=maps&s[]=free#offline

please open for new questions always a new topic, so other user have a change to find a solution via seach dialog ;-))

Ok, you are right!

I've downloaded a Japan map and added the POIs I have created on my Google Maps. It seems to work fine offline.

Thanks for your help and time.
