Import of JPG files with gps data

Hello,

I searched for help in this matter and all say the same:

open Menu/search/(scroll down) localized photo/select directory, or search in all/select one or more > Import

BUT I don't find the item "localized photo"?! My search menu Ends with the last entry:

GeoNames and GNS. Underneath this item is no more item visible?!

Also an other way: Menu/more functions/Import data/ ... it Shows me my Directory. BUT all the jpg files are gray - visible but not active. There are three Points vertical on the right side of each jpg file. But when I tap on the Points nothing happens...

Also: the helpfile here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:search&s[]=localized

describes in the text beneath "Search other" that geotagged are part of "Search other". But in the detailed descriptions down it Ends with"GeoNames and GNS" without further mentioning geotagged photos... why?

What am I doing wrong here?

Thank you for your help!

Christoph

Hi Christoph,

all say the same... but they are wrong. We changed approach to geotagged photos and it's much easier now to display them on map. Tap the left panel (blue tab) > select map layers > Geotagged photo. Select your photo folder and that's it. More in detail: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:mainscr_lpanel#map_layers

Thanks for the Swift answers! I added my Folder containing the .jpg files.

So it is now a "Map layer". Additionally I tapped so that it is visible (eye on right side without stroke.)

But I still do not see them on the map. I ended Locus and started it again. I would except, that some sort of Import or loading would start. But nothing happend...? In the old Version the Import took quite some time (650 .jpg files).

So... what is still missing?

Thank you for your help.

ah correction! Now they are there. Maybe the process was taking in the Background and took some time...

Thank you all!

I have to add, that it is a bug, that it only adds the .jpg files of the inserted Folder, not the subfolders...

Please Change this in future versions, thanks!

It's not a bug, it's an intention. Not everybody wants to display all photos from the selected directory structure. Better define more directories and have full control over what is displayed or not.

Thanks for your answer. In my case I have already a folder structure, which I need. I can not change this structure only for Locus.

At least it should be an Option to include subfolders or not. This way everboday would be happy!

Thanks!

You don't have to change anything. Just add subfolders of your structure to Locus infividually. Anyway, thanks for the idea.
