Improve Interface - Panels & Buttons

I am not a frequent user of Locus Maps, and I find it very difficult to navigate the many useful processes that are available. I have found that by investigating the various processes, I understand them, but forget them between uses. I would like to be able to display icons for the processes I wish to use. I find the Set Functions Panels and Set Content Panels to be very helpful. However, they are not as versatile as they could be. Would like to see:

1) Remove the distinction between "content" and "function". I want to be able to put icons for whatever process I want (content or function), wherever I want them (either side, or top).

2) All content and function should be available in a single "Set Panels" screen that can assign content or function to either side/top of the screen.

3) Make ALL processes available in this Set Panels screen. There are way too many processes (night mode, Guidance, etc.) that are not currently available to select.

Hi Dean,

1) distinction between content and functions is reasonable as there are a lot of features in Locus as you yourself mentioned - it adds clarity to Locus controlling and the way it is structured resulted from months of user testing and development

2) content panel features are available also for inserting in function panels (map themes, active items, map layers or nearest points)

3) all features are available for inserting in functions panels, including guidance and night mode (via quick settings button, see http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:settings:quick_settings)
