Improve message when loading missing map

I had deleted a map to free up some space. When I next ran Locus I got this message below, which is informative & useful. My minor suggestion for improvement is the Error text. It's not an Unknown Problem. It's simply that the file wasn't found, in this case deleted. The caption could maybe be worded a little better as "Problem adding map" or "Problem with map".

Hello Andrew,

interesting. Because if you simply remove the map, then this error should not appear at all.

What you see really means that Locus Map had any problem with the mentioned map file. Anyway, it is really interesting because I do not see any place where error with "Unknown problem" should appear for vector maps.

Rare problem I think, but if you give me exact steps to simulate it, I'll improve it. Anyway simple "close Locus Map, delete file, open Locus Map" cause no issue for me.

Thanks Menion. Yes interesting. I had identical issue with the Spain LoMap I bought yesterday. I will attempt to reproduce later today.

It is 100% reproducible for me.

  1. select map
  2. exit Locus
  3. move/ delete/ hide selected map files
  4. start Locus
  5. observe error

I've tested with Locus & non-Locus maps, Locus & non-Locus themes.

Thanks Andrew for testing. I'll definitely try your steps, thanks.

One more question. What exactly you do here: "exit Locus". Thanks

exit Locus = double tap Android return button

I've deleted half of my vector maps and not a single error. Generally, there should not be any error message when the map is removed. Locus Map at the start, search over defined directories and then initialize all found maps. So if any map is removed, it should not cause any problem, because it is not listed at the start.

This happens only the first start after you removed the map, right?

Then I suggest to let it be. Also because it is a lot better to delete map directly over Locus Map ;). It's useful mainly because some maps, LoMaps, may be from more files and app takes care of all of them.

Sorry to waste your time. It was only a minor suggestion.

correct

It is definitelly not a waste of time. It is an issue that should not happen.

Anyway, I'm unable to simulate it and it also does not seriously affect app functionality = problem that does not need an immediate solution.
