Hello


Is it possilbe to show all possible waypoints of one stage in the multi cache solver?

Here is an example:

I have this formula for stage 2:

N 48°20.(194*A) E 007°45.B(4*A)


variable A could be a number from 1 to 9

and variable B could also be a number from 1 to 9


Now I want to see all possible waypoints for stage 2 on the map.

Is there a function for this in the multi cache solver?

I hope you can understand my question.

In the multi cache solver from locus you can't see all possible points at once.

And the geocachingtoolbox seems to have problems with my formula :(

You are probably right..but lets break this formula.

First, where is first stage...next stage need to be in a certain range?

N 48°20.(194*A) --> N 48°20.194?--> N 48°20.388?--> N 48°20.582? etc..this will break A value for sure.

E 007°45.B(4*A)---> A value already broken....B value in range from 0-9

Sooooo..in geocachingtoolbox...enter North (without degree symbol but space)..then East with B letter as unknown. On B line enter 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9....this will give you a nice line of possible endpoints.

But it looks like I'm too stupid to use the geocachingtoolbox, because it always says "0 possible locations found" :(

You are not stupid.. but geocaching toolbox cannot take any formula at all.


N 48°20.(194*A) E 007°45.B(4*A) is the formula in this case.

Lets say A need to be 3 (A=3) because this will give N 48°20.582..which is within 500 meter boundary of first stage so its likely to be correct.

Now.. let us put in N48 20.582 E007 45.b12.. "Show coodinates" - button..

On the b line, enter possible values 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9..

Thats it.. (assuming value A really is 3 because of reasonably close to first/previous stage.. otherwise try to match North result with first/previous stage)

Sorry I forgot to tell you unknown has to be small letter..

But that means that geocachingtoolbox only works if you are searching for 1 variable? It won't work if you are searching for 2 or more variables?

And it won't work with formulas with brackets?


I would like to tap only this formula in

N 48°20.(194*A) E 007°45.B(4*A)

and then I would like to see all possible points without knowing the any north coordinate. This would easier in my opinion

A tool like that would be great!


It doesn't exist to my knowledge, as Barbudor say, just a few variables could easily give you 1000+ points pr. square km!

Geocaching toolbox will handle max 3 wildcards, but every now and then.. its the kitchen table, pen and paper thats matters. Tools like GCC (app) and webpages with tools can only help you to put the pieces together..
