Is OpenSeaMap available for download in Locusmap Pro?

I have Locusmap Pro, and cannot find OpenSeaMap in the list of online maps or in the store.

Has it been removed? i see references to locusmap on Openseamap web site.

Also, assuming openseamap is supported in Locus Pro, is the live tracking of marine systems also shown by Locus?

Hi,

OpenSeaMaps are available as online and you can download parts for offline usage. To display and download map please open Menu - Maps - Online - OSM Other - OpenSeaMap

I'm sorry but would you please send me more info what exactly is 'live tracking of marine systems'.

Live tracking tracks ships. Knowing it is important for safety of small boats, kayakers.

Also, the ship name is given on the live tracking and is useful to drive attention of the ship on radio.

The Bay has cell service and lot of shipping traffic, and hence live tracking would be useful for safety.

Locus offers Live tracking feature to share movements with other users https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:live_tracking and you can also define 'Custom Live tracking' to share position with external services https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:functions:live_tracking#custom_live_tracking

But I'm not sure if this is the feature you are looking for. I mean that Locus doesn't offer any official Marine tracking service.

Openseamap has the capability to track ships.

The only question is if locusmap queries that info in near real time from openseamap. I dont think locusmap does this.

Anyways, appreciate your help in letting me know how to access openseamap in locus.

Thank you for info. It seems that OpenSeaMap really aggregates some live marine data as described at https://openseamap.org/index.php?id=schiffstracking&L=1 I'm sorry but Locus doesn't offer such layer.
