I would like to be able to read Locus maps or RMaps on a stock (non rooted) nook color. I am unable to access Google Play, the apps will not load. I do not see anything in the Nook Apps store.

I`m sorry, I firstly thought that your post is some spam, because I had no idea that something like Nook exists.

I`m looking on it and see no problem, why should not locus run on this device. i`ll try to examine to little bit more and try to publish Locus also on this place.

thank you here is e-mail I got from an aircraft map dealer. I believe he was talking about a Ca7 rooted Nook. I tried the AndroidPit down load it did not work.

Also: which would not load.

Honestly, PDF is a really horrible solution for raster charts.

If you can figure out how to load it, I`d recommend trying out `OruxMaps` and download the OruxMaps charts from our website and unzip them into the proper directory. This is an actual raster viewer which should be reasonably fast on most devices.

It looks like Locus Maps also (Locus Free or Locus Pro) also is used by people with the Nook Color.

(Use our RMaps download for Locus)

Looks like both may be installable on the Nook color via the AndroidPIT Market:

Hello,

we would like to add your app Locus Free to Nook color app.

Unfortunatelly, I don`t see what is problem with our app in AndroidPIT in your previously post.

You wrote, " I tried the AndroidPit down load it did not work"

And also you wrote "Looks like both may be installable on the Nook color via the AndroidPIT Market:"

So, may I ask you what can I do now?

Please, send me more information what you need via e-mail support.locus@asamm.com

sorry for the confusion, that phrase was what someone wrote to me, and I tried it and it did not work. The whole text starting with "Honesty..." was what someone suggested as a solution, however it will not load on a Stock Nook. I assume it will load on one Rooted but I would prefer not to do that.

I do not know how many millions of Barns and Nobel, Nook, Nook Color, and Nook Tablet there are, but here in the USA it is popular as an E-reader, than can access the internet. I use it as a tablet and Aircraft Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) which is why it is possible that it will work better with Locus compatible air maps. The Rooted version can access all of the Google Play or other Android software. Mine is not Rooted, as I am afraid of doing that and ruining what I have.

interesting

The Nook is quite unknown here in Europe.

(i think so)

On Androidpit.com Locus is totally outdated ;(

Your Nook runs with Android OS now.

With what version?

outdated? I`m sure not, we update Locus on AndroidPIT exactly same as on Google Play

all it says is software version 1.4.3. If you try to load any android programs it says "for security reasons you are not allowed to use any programs not obtained at the Nook App Store" There are many free apps there but I do not know what you have to do to upload.

Your Android Versioin is 1.4.3??

Are you sure?

Locus runs on Version 2.1 and up

Idea declined. There is no reason for making some special version of Locus for such book reader and it depends on Nook creators if they provide some alternative store where Locus already exists. And well ... one vote :).
