Thanks to Wolfgang, Menion, and the others who answered my questions.

I have figured the steps out to get to where I needed to. I now have a track, a KMZ file, recorded in Locus Pro, which shows a path for a World Archery FITA Field archery tournament. It has icons for both where archers must stand to shoot and where the targets will be located, fairly precisely relative to the track. They are each numbered to ID the order of target shooting through the Central Texas hill country, and there are brief comments for each. Best of all, it's in Google Earth so archers can use it to prepare for the tournament. This has never been done, to my knowledge. Regardless, it's cool... oh, and of course, if you want to see it, rename the zip to a kmz extension in order to use in google earth.

THANKS.
