KMZ/KML files from mapItems folder no longer displayed in "Data" page (aka MapItems page)

Previously, all kmz/kml files were displayed in the data page (aka map items page) and it was easy to turn on/off visibility of points by tap on file.
Now it is mandatory to "Import" points from file, which is less convenient.
Is it regression issue or intentional reduction of functionality?

some time ago we resolved to design handling MapItems differently - mapItems are now managed in a separate screen called Map Items (available in the main menu) and in the map content panel (left side). More info: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:items
