Hello,I have a question to the compass needle in Locus. The needle is shown in red and white in the upper left corner. Which color stands for north and south? When I switch to the compass and then back to the map with the needle, I have the feeling that white is sometimes north and sometimes south.

Thanks for the help

Hello Uwe

red needle in map screen point to north as well as in compass

Perhaps behavior depend on your settings of compass.

Has your device a build in magnetic compass?

Hello Wolfgang.

As far as I know, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a built-in compass.

I have switched on "Use actual orientation" in the settings under GPS and Sensors.

On my ride tody in made two snapshots. The first shows the compass needle in the app (red tip of the compass needle points to the right). The second snapshot, taken directly afterwards in the compass menu, here is the north (the red tip) on the left. Thus the north is once right and once left. That can't be. Where is the error?

Greetings Uwe

Hello Uwe

your setting "Orientierung per GPS"

means: orientation of the map depend on current/last info from GPS, so if you stand still map direction is mostly not up to dateand pont more or less in the wron direction

Compass view display always direction from magnetic sensor, if device has one.

Setting "true north" or "magnetic north" differ only a few degrees in germany... so this setting doesn´t matter for you.

My recommendation, set Ausrichtung> Kompass to "Automatisch 3,6km/h"

so magnetic sensor is used for map and compass view if you move slow or stand still and it point always in the right direction

Have fun Wolfgang
