Large map download fails after 50-100 tiles.
Not a Problem
I'm in the process of downloading a large (68,000 tiles) visicom map. Worked like a dream up to 48,000 tiles in batches of 5000.
When I want to continue downloading now, the download always fails after 50-100 tiles. The error message 'process unsuccessful, check internet connection and space on SD card' shows.
-Internet connection is fine.
-plenty of space on phone. I even deleted some maps from the folder where the map was stored, with no results.
-I do not have SD card.
Hello David,
This issue can also happen if no-valid tile is returned from visicom map server. Maybe your area for downloadinfg exceed the coverage of visicom map for specified zoom-level. Please try to create debug log for us but I'm aware that it won't help us in this situation. How to create debug log is described: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log
Thanks
Petr

Thanks, I will. However, I think you are right, most probably there are area's in the map I try to download that do not support the zoom-level i specified.
Any way to work around this? would be a real shame to throw away all the tiles i downloaded this far...

Hello David,
would you please send me the GPS coordinates, or screenshot with the problematic border area. I need to simulate downloading of the same border area. It helps us to understand response from Visicom server.
Workaround:
- Please Abort downloading (downloaded map will remain on storage)
- Start new downloading > select similar area of intereset but please avoid the border areas
- On screen with definition of the name of map change Download type from "Personal ma SQL" to "Supplementary download SQL"
- Locus show file browser > please open Locus > maps > there should be placed unfinished map from previous downloading > select it
- Submit downloading > Locus skip the already downloaded tiles and only missing tiles will be downloaded
