Live tracking "event" field

It`d be useful to send an "event" field to live tracking HTTP-message, so server could identify events.
This field could be start time of live tracking or something like that and would be the same for all locations sent during the tracking session and also sent on each message. With this kind of field server could identify track points belonging to the same tracking session.
I like this idea 
You can set a custom textfield for identification as a workaround. However, not really comparable to an automated solution.
