loading MyTracks on startup

pietzke shared this problem 10 years ago
Solved

When I start locus it gets realy slow at about 60% as it comes to loading tracks. It takes about a minute to start because it has ticked about the first 30 Tracks from MyTracks. I can untick them within the tracks menu and they disappear, but on next startup they are loading again... I don't know since which Version it actually happens. Any ideas on how to solve this? Maybe it's just a setting I haven't found yet?

Hello,

sorry, no hidden settings. Just an issue in Locus. Thank you for a report. Will be fixed in next version.

Hello Menion, deselection of tracks works fine now. Startup time has improoved but is still quite long with over 20 secs from 60 - 70 % with no tracks selected to show. I don't know what is actually happening on start but maybe going through all the tracks when entering the tracks menu for the first time could improove startup time some more?

Hi,

firstly just a short info - thanks to this voting http://help.locusmap.eu/responses/usage-of-mytracks-integration , MyTracks will be completely removed in next Locus version

Loading time is not related to amount of tracks in your db. Locus do not load them if not needed. There are four main areas that are loading at start

- initializing of maps (only if there are any new)

- points from Data > Points

- tracks from Data > Tracks

- various items from Data > Items

Locus tries to restore previous state, so check if you do not have visible some points, tracks, items when you close Locus. You may also try to rename Locus/data/database directory (where are stored points/tracks) or rename Locus/mapItems (where are stored 'Items'), to check which cause these loading issues.

Hi Menion,

thanks for the info of removing MyTracks from Locus.

As I said, no points and tracks are visible. I tried to deny acces in MyTracks for other Apps. That absolutely solved the problem. Startup times from Locus are really quick now! Indeed I can't access those tracks from Locus any more, but if support for MyTracks is removed, I'll have to export those tracks anyway. Shouldn't be a problem. Thanks a lot!

Hello Pietzke,

this is really interesting. I was almost sure, that loading of MyTracks worked correctly.

Anyway we do not need to solve it now, as removing of MyTracks successfully solved also this problem. Good to hear.
