Locally store (and rename) wms map when internet connection is absent or bad?

(Pro user) The WMS layers occasionally balks when server goes bad or with internet connection issues. The wms layers are key to our students' use (geology), so local (temp) storage is important.

Yes, it is the same questions, but the answer is 5 years old. That is, what, android 2?

How about a limit on tile download to, say, one square at a time. Otherwise, how can I best download a wms-based map (with wms data layers), store locally, and then import into Locus as needed?

Good day,

maybe five years old, but situation is still almost same. Locus tries to request map tiles in size 512x512 and last 1000 tiles is temporary saved in cache. Unfortunately no permanent cache is currently possible and because WMS support is just "secondary bonus" feature of hiking/cycling application, there is currently no plan to change this behavior.

Thank you for understanding.
