Locus 3.19.0: how to hide blue icons on route waypoints ?

Hello.

Locus 3.19.0: when creating manually a route, once all the waypoints of the route have been selected on the map and the route is saved, the route is displayed with a blue icon atop of each way point. This feature could be useful to view the position of each way point, but it is also extremely obstructive as the icons hide large areas of the map.

This feature was not there on previous versions of Locus.

I tried to find in the route menus and in the Locus settings a way to hide these icons, with no success.

I tried to hide, then to show the route: the icons are displayed again atop of the way points.

In the attached file I show an example of the route display.

Is there any way to hide these icons ?

Thanks and regards.

Hi, it'll be changed in the next-week-coming bugfix version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

To cure an already existing gpx track with the 'large" Icons.

- Replace Via_Point Down Arrow Icon for a discrete small black dot Icon.

Open gpx track by "firstobject XML Editor" or use "notepad".

Use function: Replace All: "icon_direction_down" by "Waypoint"

- No "Via Point" TTS announcement in Navigation:

Use function: Replace All: "Via point" by "" (empty)

Hello

Thanks for the suggestion.

But this solution implies that each time a route is created manually, it is necessary to go through this process.

Although feasible, unpractical.

I am wondering if editing one of the Locus configuration files to get a permanent solution for all manually created routes could be possible.

Regards.

Sure, and issue will be solved in next version soon. Is only suggestion how to convert already existing history tracks with Via Icons into a more discrete Icon version.

I can't seem to find the solution after upgrading to 3.20.0. Is there any way to hide the waypoints of existing tracks (created between 3.19.0 and 3.20.0) or does the bugfix only affect newly created ones?

I'm afraid the bugfix solves only newly created routes.

Hello

Version 3.20.0 does solve the problem, Thanks.

To Jonas Lieb, for routes created with version 3.19.0, apply the solution described above by 0709.

If you have just a few routes, any text editor will do the necessary search and replace file by file.

If you have many routes to correct and if you have a Windows computer or tablet:

- Download the small standalone command line executable FART (Find And Replace Text). You will find the command line options and the download link at the web site http://fart-it.sourceforge.net/

- Put all your routes to correct in the same folder (they can be in sub-folders of this folder)

- Run the command that will do the recursive replacements. For example the command

FART -r "C:\My_GPX_folder\*.gpx" icon_direction_down Waypoint

should replace in all gpx files located in the folder C:\My_GPX_folder and its subfolders the string "icon-direction-down" by the string "Waypont"
