Locus causing extreme slowdown in Coming out of Standby

Steve Brown shared this problem 7 years ago

Android 6.01. Locus loaded and running. push power button to put phone in low power standby. push power button again to wake it up. Lock screen appears. attempt to type in pin number.

Extreme delay between button press and it showing up on the screen, to the point the phone goes back to sleep BEFORE you can enter any more digits.

Found that the phone could be unlocked by entering all the digits and pressing the enter key and just waitng, even though NOTHING appears on the screen. it appears the digits were buffered. The phone would actually go back to sleep and then wake back up unlocked.

Good day Steve,

from your description, it is not perfectly clear to me, where is a problem, anyway are you using Locus Map > settings > display > Disable screen lock > All screen locks settings? If so, try to disable this option as this is not officially supported method and may cause some troubles.

If locus maps is running, and the phone goes into standby, trying to get it to accept the pin number is the issue. there is at minimum, a five second delay between pressing a key and it displaying on the screen.

Oki, thanks, understand. Are you using mentined settings or any special "screen lock / keyguard" feature?

Interesting. Thanks for information Steve, anyway quite complicated to solve. If same problem with same conditions happen to you again, please let me know here. There are methods how may I simulate similar conditions, so I'll try it in such case. In case of problem, write me please also type of maps you were using in that moment and also if you used any service, like track recording, live tracking, navigation, etc. Thank You.

Yeah, nuts!  I was hoping to give you all that info by duplicating the problem.

I had personal maps loaded, a fairly large chunk of scanned USGS maps centered around Lake Chelan, in Washington State.  No cell service on about 2/3 of the lake.  (Upper end.  Way up in the Cascade Mountains.  7,000' (2300m) high peaks.)
