Locus Map crashes on Blackview BV9600

Hi,

the app 3.36.2 (pro version) crashes always when trying to use the search function and often when zooming in/out on osm maps.

Happens on a blackview BV9600 pro.

Good day Johannes,

sorry to hear about such troubles with Locus Map app. I'm a little worried that with maps, it will be more complicated. Suggest giving a try to different maps. Do you use LoMaps from Locus Store? Please try some online maps if this will make difference.

Anyway problem in search system: may you please try to create a bug report right after app crash by this method? I'm not sure if the same option exists in Blackberry, hope it does.

I have two bugreports:

Currently I am using a LoMaps map from locus store. but I cannot change the map (see 2) ).

Hello Johannes,

thanks for the bug reports.

From where is your Locus Map Pro application? It seems that the application is unable to correctly use special database libraries. I never saw a similar problem before, but this may most probably happen only during first the start of the app and incorrect initialization.

Hey Menion,

well the installation of the application is via Google Playstore .

I tried a little bit and have following additional information.

a) resetting back to standard configurition:the search is working again after that action. but still not able to select other maps again

b) deinstall the app and reinstall again: no change in behaviour

c) deinstall the app and manually delete the locus folder : search and map menu is working :)

d) install a lomap offline map eg. Germany south --> map menu is not working anymore = crash.

and search menu is also not working anymore :(

Hello Johannes,

understand. The problem really is that core library that is downloaded during the first app initialization is not downloaded to your device.

This library is needed to correctly work with LoMaps maps and perform offline address search. So temporary solution: do not download LoMaps from Locus Store and all should work correctly for now.

We have in progress update of these libraries and how they will be distributed to users which may (and hopefully will) solve this your problem. Anyway, this change will happen most probably in April, not sooner. So if it's possible, avoid LoMaps for now and let us know after around two months when we publish a new version, if it helps. Thanks for understanding. If there is something more I may help with now, please let me know.

Good day Johannes,

if you are still using Locus Map and have version over Google Play store, I want to inform that there should be available Locus Map 3.38.2 version that has some major changes in libraries we talked about before. I really hope it helps to solve the issues you had with previous Locus Map versions.

Unfortunately if not, then I may only offer a refund of your purchase because the app just does not work correctly on your device as it should. In case, the purchase is not too old (maybe more then a year), the refund should be possible (depends if Google allows us).
