Locus map for UK
Declined
Could you please make available a Locus vector map (via Locus store) for either Great Britain (England, Wales, Scotland) or the British Isles (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Irish Republic).
Personally, I need England and Wales together, both for the mapping and for the associated POI database and this seems a reasonable way to achieve that.
Hi,
I only want to be sure that I can understand your idea. You want to have other vector map that cover whole GB or the isles, am I right? Well, why not...

That's the idea exactly.
No need to switch maps when crossing the (notional) boundaries within the United Kingdom.

This is by way of illustration of my comment above. If England map is selected, Locus does not autoload Wales. If Wales map is selected, it will autoload England.

Thanks John. This is a known problem for me, that happen in cases, one map cover huge area. It happen to me as well with big map of Germany and smaller map of Czech. Unfortunately this needs a little bit more complicated solution that we needs to do together with Peter. Have to find some time on this ...
Anyway I understand your point with Wales. Unfortunately huge maps complicates us a work mainly with offline POI data and also in future with routing and searching data. I personally prefer smaller files with good logic around, like working auto-loading.
And yes, we already have Germany and France, which are even bigger then what you want. But I have to say that I'm also against these huge maps and if decision will be only on mine, I separate these maps at least in half.

I understand your points, but with no boundary whatsoever between England and Wales, stopping routing at the non-existent border makes little sense. So, given effective autoloading and effective cross-border routing and searching, fine.

Good day John,
even if I understand your request, I have to decline this idea. We have already split some other huge maps (Germany, France) and as we are currently working on better auto-loading, I believe this another big map won't be needed. Thanks for understanding.
