Locus pro default map folder different from Locus free, some questions below...
hi,
I have Locus free and downloaded many offline maps. Locus free stored my offline maps and everything else under the folder:
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/
(this is the default, and i do not recall changing the setting for this directory)
Then I installed Locus pro, and when I opened it, I could not see any of my offline maps. That is because Locus pro uses this top level directory by default:
/sdcard/Locus/
Of course I can change the Locus pro top directory to /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/
... but i don't think it would be such a great idea since, from what I understand, the entire folder
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/
will be deleted if I un-install my old Locus free app. Right?
So, do you recommend to manually copy all the files and folders from
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/
to
/sdcard/Locus/
...before un-installing Locus free?
Another question: does the location of the Locus top directory have any effect about whether the locus files (maps, tracks etc) are backed-up automatically by Android?
i.e. Is /sdcard/Locus always backed-up and /storage/emulated/0/... never backed up?
well, actually i guess Locus data are generally never auto-backed-up by Android since they are larger than 25MB if you have some offline maps...

Hi Tristan,
During installation, Locus (doesn't matter if Free or Pro) always offers available storage options and /sdcard/Locus is recommended by default. Therefore, if you have your LM Free installed in storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/, if must have been on your demand. Which has virtually no use in case of Nexus 6 that doesn't provide option of an external drive. You are right, /data/menion.android.locus/ is deleted upon uninstall so if you want to use your data in LM Pro , move them to LM Pro directory before uninstalling LM Free.
As for backups of your data (settings, tracks etc.), they are not done by Android but can be done by Locus, see more at http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tools:backup. And of course it is recommended to have the backup folder in /sdcard/Locus/ directory.
Backups of your downloaded maps must be done manually via a third party apps (clouds like Dropbox, Google Drive) or via default file browser to your PC.
