Locus Pro needs long to start

Hello,


when I start Locus Pro it shows "Vorheriger Status" (previous status) for one full minute before I can actually use the app.


After reading http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/very-slow-startup-caused-by-loading-points I checked these settings, but they are already disabled.


Despite this setting, once the app is finally working, it shows all my points and favorites.


How can I speed up startup?


I'm using Locus Pro 3.18.2 on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running Android 4.4.2.

balloni55, I'm not 100% sure, if updated version helps here. In new version are some optimizations, but loading of content of folders remains almost untouched.


If you are stuck during loading on "Previous state", then it means that

  • you have enabled imported/recorded points/tracks (to remove it, read more about Data manager). You may hide content of "Points" tab by top menu button "Clear selection", same for tracks.
  • or you have enabled some items in "Map items" folder (to remove it, read more about Items)


Hope this helps at least little bit. Feel free to write some more information if this won't help.

I updated to 3.18.5 now, disabled the display of all tracks (I have more than 200 on the device), and restarted the phone. Now Locus Map starts within a few seconds.

Glad to hear it Wolfgang!


You are not the first and also not the last who had similar problem. It leads me to some idea, how to measure time needed for certain actions during load and offer user some solution directly within an app. Hmm, another task to do during long winter nights.
