Support for Projects/Trips
Gathering feedback
The ability to Create, Open, Close a project in Locus Pro(database, etc. make this a Pro feature). Projects would keep activities organized and could be used so send to other Losusers (as a Locus Map or Data Package) for sharing.
I'm used to use the ability to sort things in LocusDB with different folders and groups. But I'm thinking it would be a very great idea to collect points, tracks and others in a bundle like a project.

Basically a feature similar to packages. But I like this idea more. Something like we could have a public user profile, where each user can add some information about self, livetracking link, groups which other people can join, and tours/trips (projects).

Saving the current state of all relevant parameters in a project session, including map, style, POIs, tracks, points, etc.
Aren't all these parameters stored anyway already, to re-intialize the app where you left off after restarting the app?
It sounds useful, however, I'm not sure if it's necessary. Track/Point folders partly allow for that already.

The idea is to have a bit different organization of stored data. Instead of having Tracks in the Track Manager, Points in the Points Manager, there would be a Project/Trip manager, where you can have points, tracks, notes, photos,... under a Project/Trip. So in case you need to share that information with other people, then you need just export the whole package/project. For example ATAK uses data packages, which can be shared with certain group or users.

So you want an additional folder to organize data into, so you could filter data, like tracks, based on the project(s) they are related to. If that's you focus my idea is more basic. However, I wouldn't need to see what the project folder contains, but just require the ability to switch projects with a click, and thus all that was stored in that project session = current app state.

Menion has already considered a trips feature which would feature this

Thanks Alistair, we are currently considering creating something like so-called "Trips". The system where you should choose points & tracks & probably maps of KML files and work with them at once more easily. This idea appears more and more in our internal discussions so I hope its time is slowly coming :)
