Locus Pro see's SDCard access as READ ONLY

Patrick Zadrobilek shared this problem 7 years ago
Solved

Recenty I reinstalled Locus Pro on Marhmallow but see's the locus data on the SDCard only as read only.

I have a Sony Xperia Z2 and Locus Pro worked perfectly before. The free version of Locus has no problem accessing the SDCard as READ/WRITE, but Locus Pro has READ ONLY access. Every other app has read/write access (via Xposed/MarshmallowSD-Card fix), but the Pro version won't work correctly.

Please advice,

Thanks Patrick.

Hi Patrick,

all available info about Locus on SD card is here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:use_sdcard_on_kitkat Test what works best for your device and let me know. Thanks!

But why does it work with the free version to choose the folder on the SDCard - on the same device?

As I wrote before, I have a rooted device with Xposed installed and all the other apps can save on the SDCard.

Good day Patrick,

both Locus Map versions are exactly same. So if one behave little bit different, it should be on 99% because of some different conditions in device itself. Difference permissions granted by system, different settings in app itself, etc.

Unfortunately I, as a main Locus Map developer, have absolute no idea what may cause this different behavior. Did you tried to re-install Locus Map Pro + restart your device? This should help in most cases.

Tried to uninstall, reboot install, still no luck. Installed the free version again - out of couriosity - works with the SDCard without any problem. So it must have something to do with Locus Pro version.

Not possible, as I wrote, both versions has same source code.

Quick search: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-marshmallow-sd-fix-write-t3403263 ... I see "Choose your apps which require write access". So just for sure, is write access enabled for Locus Map Pro as well?

Btw. where you see that for Locus Map Pro is directory read-only? Right at start in "Start screen" during choosing initial app root directory? In this case, "read/write" access is really tested by simply writing tiny file to directory. So if it's not possible to write there, it's simply not possible.

OK, now after a few uninstalls, installs and investigations I just simply forgot to set Locus Pro to have access to the SDCard via Xposed Module "Marshmallow SD Fix". Allowed Locus Pro write access to SD-Card, rebooted oned again and voila works :)

Thanks for the help :)

Cheers,

Patrick.
