Locus starts and again wants to add same cache

Is this a known issue maybe:

Using Locus Pro / Free plus the Geocache plugin to have a lot of gecocaches.

When I get a notification email on a new cache I tap on the link to the new cache.

Android comes up with Locus to act on that.

I select Locus Pro.

It loads the cache and asks into which folder to store it.

All fine.

Stop Locus

Later again firing up Locus it again asks into which folder to put that same cache.

So it does not normally starts: it starts as if I just again tapped on a email.

It can be rather persistent in this: stop locus and start it --> it keeps asking into which folder.

Thanks!

This may be related??? If I use a locus-action and it fails for any reason (including my stupid mistake), the next time I start Locus, the same locus-action is again attempted without any action on my part! So while I am developing locus-actions, I have to (re) start Locus at least once until the failed locus-action no longer shows with the orange toast notifications. Once it stops telling me "process unsuccessful" or whatever, then I can go back to the web page with the link to the locus-action: and try it again. This is painful.

Yes, I've been having the same problem for more than a year, was just about to report it. Sometimes when I add some new caches and then close Locus, it adds them the next time I launch it again and can do it over and over several times.

Hi guys,

I'm sorry, but I'm unable to simulate same problem. Such problem should not happen at normal circumstances. What exactly you do that such problem happen?

If I send link with GC code on email, then tap on link in email and import cache with Geocaching4Locus, then after closing (real closing with back button and confirm) Locus and start again, I have no such problem. No request on import.

It might have some connection to G4L and it was described by R5O.nl. Sometimes, when I add a cache or several caches, G4L first downloads them and then the import dialog appears, the one where you choose the folder where to import the points. Then you tap OK/import or whatever and you continue using Locus. However, when you quit Locus (be it by double tapping the back button or killing it) and then start it again, after the process of loading maps and waypoints finishes the same import dialog for the same cache(s) appears again even though they are already imported. And it can go on forever like this and the import dialog keeps appearing each time I start Locus.

Can I get a log somewhere that I could send you when this happens again? I can imagine it's hard to simulate.

Interesting. Thanks popescu for a description. I hoped it will help, unfortunately no matter what I try - no difference, all works.

Log won't also help here. If you will be able to find exact moment when this happen, so I'll be able to simulate it, it will be perfect.

Mystery for me is anyway why this never happen to me during testing? Because I play with Locus whole days, I expect that such problem appear from time to time ...

I'm afraid that any further description won't help as it happens only sometimes, not everytime. Then it stops and everything is okay for a long time and then it happens again. And I don't know that it's happening until there is the re-launch of Locus that can be hours or even days after the import. Lots and lots of things can change in the meantime, thus I'm unable to spot more circumstances that could cause it because I never know when it's happening. Are you sure a log wouldn't be of any help?

Hmm understand.

No, I'm not 100% sure. But I know what I should expect. There is almost 100% sure, that received request on start of Locus will contain data from previous request, but I have absolutely no idea why. And to find it out, I need to simulate that problem.

I have anyway one small idea that should help on this. I'm little bit worried not to make things worst with it, but I'll give it a chance and we will see :)

EDIT: ah damn back. It won't help.

Hmm, so I have currently absolutely no idea :/ ...

I'd love to give you more information. I just don't know how. You said a Locus log won't be of any good. Are you that sure about that? Tell me how to get the Locus log and I'll try to send it to you the next time the bug occurs. Maybe you will be able to see something there. Or are there any other logs I could get you?

I'm not 100% sure, but there is not much I can see inside. Anyway you may try it - how to create log is wrote here http://support.locusmap.eu/hc/en-us/articles/200014832-How-to-create-debug-log

Hi, after installing Locus, when tried to launch, it gives "populating user data" for very long time. It does not launch at all. Might be something is blocking to open i guess. Can you please help.

Hello,

please create a new topic for such problem as it's not the same problem as here. Also some screenshot how it looks, should help a lot. Thanks
