Locus-Store not working with Google Account

Hi!

Today I updated Locus Map Pro to version 3.32. Later I opened the store in the app and tried to purchase a new map. But when I tried to log in with my Google account, the login failed with the message: "Hoppla! / T:Google authentication failed / vY$If, code:0". ("Hoppla" is German vor "Oops"). I tried it some more times and also restarted the app without any success.

The last time I used the store was some months ago, but then it was definitely working. Unfortunately I'm unable to say if the problem is related to the current update or it may would have occurred in a prior version of the app.

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Good afternoon to all,

we just now published new version 3.32.1 on Google Play (will be available for download during next hours).

This version should mainly fix two following login issues:

  • an issue with *.googlemail.com accounts
  • issue with Facebook login

And also add an option to log in over custom email/password. Let us know if, for these cases, it works correctly.

Anyway, one major problem still remains: login over custom hosted Gmail accounts. We are since Friday in touch with Firebase support team (provider of our new login solution) and together we search for a solution.

So in case, you get "Google authentication failed" or "Email address is already in use by another account" error message, you have three options:

  • if you do not need any data from Locus Store now and have no problem to wait, just please wait. We are trying hard to find a solution
  • if you really need your data now, please downgrade to previous Locus Map version 3.31.3 which should work correctly: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vxmflyhHvhfdAna1xysyEvRp7RVDFkgw?usp=sharing ( it is necessary to un-install new version and then install older. If you use default app configuration, data are store in "internal memory"/Locus directory, so they will not be removed by this process! )
  • or if you never had any purchased LoCoins, then feel free to use a different account, it should work as well. As a bonus, you get three new LoMaps for free :).

Once again: sorry for the troubles and feel free to contact us, if you will have different login problem then I wrote above. Maybe it is better to create a new ticket (they are private) so we may better discuss about an alternative solution.

I'm really sorry for such complication. TIll now, I was not able to find our real reason for this behavior. If anyone has a while, please try this Beta version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lk-rCjKZOjUjyWhDyWQvkLNjwJ1vn9Fo/view?usp=sharing . After install and start, try to login into Locus Store as well as before. Very similar problem: After the update I can no longer access my locus-store (see attached screenshot) nor open any of the maps recently purchased - save Lomaps: they still work alright. The beta version didn't change anything at all. Help would be very much appreciated, as I purchased these maps specifically for my holidays.

I delete the current Version and installed a older version. The shop is working now with the old version. I wait now for an update

Good day guys,

we are working on it since yesterday with my colleague Petr, but no success so far. It seems to be a weird problem in new provider we started to use for login (Firebase system) instead of the previous system.

Anyway, good point Andreas. If some of you need to use your paid maps or just wants to access to Locus Store, it should be possible to downgrade to the previous version. I've shared them here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vxmflyhHvhfdAna1xysyEvRp7RVDFkgw?usp=sharing . So do simple "Backup of settings" in menu > more > backup manager. Un-install this new version and install downloaded APK file.

Really sorry for a complication!

there is new version of Locus store that could helps with some situations. Please try to login if

  • you were facing error code 50011 and you use account "xxx@googlemail.com"
  • you use login with Facebook

Please let us know about progress.

I have the same problem. Xiaomi Redmi 4x Android 7.1.2 - Locus Pro and Locus Free.

I am trying to add new room in Live tracking.

On Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 SM-A310F there wasn't any problem.


I hope You will find a solution very soon. On 15th of August I have big event in forest. I had already send instructions for older version. Without Live tracking it will be a disaster.

Good evening dear users,

with Petr, we found three main problems with login to Locus Store. Users with the email ending googlemail.com should try the latest version, it should now work correctly.

Other with facebook or google login that receives error may help me here if have a little time. I've prepared one special version that has some changes & updated all possible Google libraries that are used for this "login" task. Version (install as Locus Map Free) is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dd7TsAlBCDAPsjeqxvLYQYJc8dJFVieL/view?usp=sharing

So if anyone has time to try it, just install it and try login again. Try it with Google/Facebook as before.

- Facebook login should now work correctly, let me know!

- Google login, do not know. If will work = perfect. If not, try to use last new option email/password if this will work (you will have to set a new password and validate it in received email). If even this won't work, please create me a log by this method right after the last try: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log . Send log really on mentioned email address because it may contain some private information.

Thanks all for a patience ... and I'm slowly going to prepare an email to Google support with the bug report.

Hi Menion,

I tried the beta version you posted above but unfortunately I did not work. As soon as I open the account or try to login in Locus Store the whole app crashes and restarts itself. I activated debug logging before, so I will send you the crash log by mail.

we're sorry for troubles. As mentioned in previous post - please download installation file of older version https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vxmflyhHvhfdAna1xysyEvRp7RVDFkgw?usp=sharing . U mnie mapy zakupione dla starej wersji Locus dalej nie działają. Brak dostępu do mapy albo złe konto. Loguje sie przez google.

Hi, the same by me. Locus wants always to create a new account and i found no way to logon with my existing accoutn :-(( Using email. Google also not work with the new version. Same problem as yesterday.

I have purchased 2 rooms for Live Tracking. I need to resign for one of them. Secondly I need to make instructions for event 15th of August. There will be like 50 persons with very little knowledge of Locus. How can I told them to install Locus?

Hello, i got the same problème with a connection via e-mail : i had purchased a 12 months IGN Map package which does not work anymore. Unfortunately installation of release 3.31.3 from above link does not work neither (message that Locus Map Pro package may be corrupted). Can i do anything else ? Thanks for your support. Je. L. Hi,

there is only one solution (or wakraround) at this moment - downgrade to 3.31.3. For downgrade is needed to uninstall current version and after that install the downloaded APK. Please check the Android settings > Security > Unknown Sources is enabled

Little feedback: Still the same issue. Google login not possible and the email / password login wants to create a new user, which is not possible because it is already existing. I will wait for a new fixed version. Best regards,

Downgrade does not work. I have lost my data AGAIN. What is wrong that each update breaks it and fixes after few days. Keep it fixed! And FIX Polish translation as it is misleading.

Just an feedback of the store (google account).

History:

Upgrade from 3.31.3 to version 3.32.0 the shop is working, but my LoCoins are "0". I try to login with facebook...big ERROR nothing work anymore with the shop.

Downgrad to 3.31.3: All works again.

Upgrade to version 3.32.1 the shop is working for me without problem with my LoCoins.

Upgrade to version 3.32.2 the shop is working, but my LoCoins are "0". Is not dramtically I had only 60 LoCoins. If the sync with the old and new database is working correctly, maybe I get the LoCoins back. :-)

Where the problem is? I dont know.

3.32.1 also worked for me but 3.32.2 does not. Downgrading to previous version does not fix the issue. Once you update, you cannot go back nicely…

Downgrade was not a big issue for me.

1: I saved the Settings in Locus

2: I renamed the Locus Directory (...\Card\Android\data\menion.android.locus.pro) on the external Card (16GB). (Because I wont delete this directory if I unistall Locus..there are all my Geocaches, downloaded Maps and all the other important stuff)

3: Uninstall Locus Program from the phone.

4: Reinstall the old Version.

5: Start Locus and Restore Settings.

6: Delete the new Locus directory on the external card.

7: Rename the Locus directory on the external card to the original name.

8: Start Locus. --> All works perfect for me

Downgrade is also not a problem for me. The problem is that the bugged version is reinstalled after a few days automatically ... and I dont know how to forbid this installation. So it is VERY anoying to downgrade again every 2/3 days. A fix is really needed for something we pay for!

Go to the Google Play store...settings..automatic update..no automatic updates. For the first days i think this is ok.

Hi guys,

thank you for your patience with this issue. We made some changes in last couple days that could help.

At this moment we need to test login for users with custom (non gmail) domain. I manually enabled login for several users involved this topic and we'll enable it for all users in case of successful test. Please try to login and let us know about progress. Maybe would be better to create new private ticket in case of further issue because there are discussed several different problems in this topic.

Hi,

thank you for the tests, It seems that our solution works properly. It requires to check all accounts in the locus store (it's about 500 000 records) So it takes some time - about one day. However it should be fixed for all users tomorrow morning.

It still doesn't work for me (google account with non-google domain).


Instead of 'vY$lf', Locus says now:

Creating account in progress... [...] check your xxx email in-box and verify the registration.


I did not get a verification mail.

I had the same issue at first. Try the resend button, I got an email with confirmation link almost immediately when I used that button.

That's different issue, plese try following: open login screen with re-send button > the top right menu (three dots) > clear cache and start whole proces again.

It doesn't help.


On the screen "Creating account in progress..." with the "Re-Send It" and "Überprüfen" (Verify) button there is only the menu item "Abmelden" (Logout).

Logout goes back to the initial login screen where I can select google, facebook and e-mail. Here is the menu item "Zwischenspeicher löschen" (Clear cache). But after clearing the cache, when I reselect Google and the Google account with my maps, it shows again "Creating account in progress...".


I also tried to clear the app cache of Locus in the Android settings; doesn't help.
