locus is dumping tracks

Why does locus throw away tracks if you forget to create a folder when saving it? Where is the sense in that?

Hello Andi,

as I know, there is no way to throw away tracks if you do not create folder. When you do not create it, you may not proceed to some procedures that need folders to next work. Do you have please step by step example, so I may test it and fix if there will be a problem? Thanks

Ok: I recorded a track. Then it asked me how to save it - folder "add folder" (as I had none created till then), the title of the track (which was the date by default) and optional description. so i added "tour bike" before the date and saved it. it didn`t force me to specify a folder or anything. my track was still visible on the map, but it didn`t show up in tracks-menu.

apparently the logic was "aaw you didn`t specify a folder.. you thought it goes just to root-tracks-folder or something? cute.. whoooops and there it goes. better watch out next time."

this is just bullshit.

and it`s easy to reproduce the problem, I did it again: if there are no folders in tracks and you go on OK on the save menu it`s just gone.

The logic was: create a folder :)

And if you have forgotten to create a folder - you can select and edit the track.

So you have a second chance to create a folder.

But you are right - there IS a way to NOT create a folder...

ok i finally found it out myself by.. accident? i dont know why it worked now with my test tracks and not with the track that i wanted to save in the first place, but wildly tapping on the track pops up the menu i was looking for.

still leaves the slightly unusual behaviour but i`m satisfied for now. at least my next recording will not be a waste of time -.-

again:

YOU are right - and my comment means:

Menion should fix this.

...and now calm down, please

Hello Andi,

sorry, there is really no sense. This issue is related to latest Locus version where was introduced new design for track and points edit screens. Points works correctly, but tracks has this problem. Issue is fixed now and in next version, Locus do not allow you to save any track when no category is choose ... (or created if non exists). Sorry and thanks for report and gynta for help!
