Solved

After updating to v2.12.2 my personal maps and vector maps are not available. My maps are in /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/locus/maps/.

Hello Joe,

may you please check Locus > menu > information > first tab ... there should be visible path to your Locus folder, so please check if this path is correct and if there isn`t any duplicate folder (should be visible in this "information" tab). Thanks and sorry for a problems

Working directory in the information tab is

/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Locus/

There is no other path there.

hmm then there is no reason for this. Do you see any error message after Locus start?

you may also try to reset your device. This is best method to solve most problems.

btw. vector maps should be stored in Locus/mapsVector, not just Locus/maps

in the end, you may try to delete Locus/cache/maps directory, which force Locus to reload all maps

Switching off the phone worked.

Personal and vector maps are now available.

Thanks Menion for great service and a great App.

I have created a .map file and when I put it in the location /mnt/sdcard/Locus/mapsVector i am getting and error:

Problem with File `mymap.map`!

FileOpenResult [success=false, errorMessage=invalid magic byte: # Map file created f]

I have tried a map that I downloaded from locusvectormaps "new_york.osm.map" and this .map file does work.

Any ideas?

hi,

hmm restart is wonderful tool. In this case it`s really weird. Mainly that you saw correct path and it was still not working.

anyway I`m glad it`s working now and it was not anything more serious

Very nice app, but I have similar problem. I can not start it since yesterday since it is stuck in loading personal map (Initializing ... personal maps.... sqlitedb).

I have tried restarting phone, killing task, emptying cache, emptying ram, but no cure.

Is there an other way to overcome this problem?

Hello Babis,

You’ve probably added some huge map in last days. Locus needs to make the initialization every new sqlitedb map. Please start Locus and wait couple of minutes (eg. 5-10 minutes - it depend on size of map). This initialization is needed only once so the next start should be quick.

Thank you very much for your fast reply.

I have one map that I gradually add zoom levels when I am within wifi reach.

The size pf the map is 1,3GB and it is located in external SD card. Looking at the map`s storage folder, there is only this file plus its journal file, sized 309kB.

I have just restarted, it shows loading... 0% for 28min, but after this, it opens normally.

Thank you, you helped a lot! I did not expect to wait so long, mislead though from 0% indicator.

28 min for 1.3GB ...slower than I thought. Anyway better progress bar is on our TODO list
