LocusMaps sleeps while in Navigation or Guidance mode

LocusMaps sleeps while in Navigation or Guidance mode, so it doesn't alert when to make turns. If i keep the screen on, then it works fine (but i can't keep the screen on all the time)!

I've excluded LocusMaps from any power savings. I set it to run as a service. But it still sleeps. When i turn the screen on, Locus for a second still shows my old position (where i turned the screen off), and then it catches up - so i assume Locus falls to sleep and doesn't track my position anymore.Actually, sometimes it wakes up itself - but it happened 600m after a missed turn (which is kinda useless).

It does track my position if i'm recording a track, even with screen off.

My phone is Samsung S9+ (Exynos), Android 9, with the latest updates from Samsung. Locus version 3.38.7.

Hi,

sorry for the inconveniences but what you describe is a quite typical behavior when the battery optimization is active. Check this site https://dontkillmyapp.com/ and make sure ALL means of optimization are switched off for Locus Map. Check also that Locus Map has ALL system permissions. Furthermore, you can try to turn Google Services assisted location (Locus settings > GPS&sensors > Google Services assisted location > ON).

best regards

Michal
