Logging geocaches
What is from your point of view currently missing geocaching feature? Thanks for the answer.
Menion
There are several different user stories regarding geocache logging and one of them is:
As a user I want to log a cache online, start writing the log text, but find out that writing the text take to much time and want to save it for later writing.
I select the switch/check box for store locally and press the confirm button. This saves everything regarding the log.
This is not possible is Locus Map. In Locus Map I have to cancel and start over
- The switch/check box for storing locally should have a configurable default value.
- All saved logs should be possible to open in log manager for later editing and sending to groundspeak
- All functionality should be available while storing it for later. That means attached images, favourite points and trackables
- Trackables should be cached in memory from previous usage in case of no network while logging
The main problem with how it is working today is that I have to start with the decision aboat logging offline or online. And that there is different possibilities for offline and online logging. It is for instance not possible to give favourite points while logging offline.
I like the idea of SV Hovland.
Is there a posibility to collect ideas / suggestions for realisation of this "new logmanager" in a kind of pinboard or something similar so everyone can share his ideas to this topic there?

Hi guys,
so what we may do with it...
The main problem I try to solve with the decision if log online/offline is to speed up the start of the logging system. In the case of "online", the app needs a fresh data about the user, so it downloads users profile from Geocaching.com that may take a while.
What about one simple button "Save" that appear at the bottom in case of online! logging, that will work exactly like "offline" logging. So it simply saves current progress?
Such "Save" button should already save defined trackables and also "favorite" flag. It already works for cases when Locus has some problems with online logging.
You may already try what do "Save" button when you log offline. Log then appear in the cache detail screen and it's possible to later edit it and log online or over "Logs manager" do some batch log or export for offline log.
Does this make sense and solve it mentioned problem?

Hello menion
basically this is definitely a good solution for online loggers

If I understood your first sentence correctly "Save" button isn´t visible if my settings are "Always log offline"
I don't get it ?! sorry
